Im Herbstprogramm von Stadtkuratorin Hamburg wird die Reihe Stadtgespräch. Metropolitane Perspektiven fortgeführt. Interdisziplinäre Perspektiven auf die Metropole Hamburg werden von internationalen KünstlerInnen, TheoretikerInnen und AktivistInnen vorgestellt:
Heike Derwanz (Ethnologin und Kunstwissenschaftlerin, HafenCity Universität Hamburg) über Altkleider und die Logik des Spendens; Anthony Iles (Autor und Herausgeber Mute, London) über uneingelöste Versprechen der Olympischen Sommerspiele in London (2012) und die Unmöglichkeit sozialen Designs; Gigi Argyropoulou (Künstlerin und Theoretikerin, Athen) und Constantina Theodorou (Architektin und Theoretikerin, Athen) über die Politik künstlerischer Räume während der Eurokrise; Florian Rötzer (Autor und Journalist Telepolis, München) über den Einzug der kreativen Klasse in die Innenstädte und die Entstehung von Smart Cities; Ulrike Bergermann (Professorin für Medienwissenschaften, HBK Braunschweig) und Nanna Heidenreich (Filmwissenschaftlerin und Kuratorin, Berlin) über die Entstehung von dekolonialen Bildräumen im urbanen Kino; Beatrice von Bismarck (Professorin für Kunstgeschichte und Leiterin Kulturen des Kuratorischen, HGB Leipzig) über die Ambivalenz von Gastfreundschaft im Kuratorischen; Vassilis S. Tsianos (Professor für Soziologie, FH Kiel) über postsäkulare Konflikte in der europäischen Stadt sowie abschließend ein Roundtable zu Refugees Welcome in Kunst und Kultur?.

Die Reihe wird in Kooperation mit dem Institut für Sozialwissenschaften der Universität Hamburg durchgeführt und kuratiert von Sophie Goltz (künstlerische Leitung Stadtkuratorin Hamburg) und Vassilis S. Tsianos (Professor für Soziologie, FH Kiel)

Am 14. Oktober 2015 um 19 Uhr beginnt die Hamburger Ethnologin und Kunstwissenschaftlerin Heike Derwanz mit der Denknotiz Der Stadt alte Kleider. Mode und Second Hand waren gestern, Fashion und Primark sind heute. In den Straßen von Hamburg liegen Unmengen von abgenutzten Kleidern, Altkleidercontainer quellen über wie auch neuerdings die Kleiderkammern für Geflüchtete.  Altkleider möchte keine/r gern tragen. Welche Möglichkeiten gibt es, aufgetragene Kleidung weiter zu nutzen jenseits von Wohlstandsspende oder Müllcontainer? Heike Derwanz stellt diese und andere Alltagspraktiken mit Kleidung vor und beleuchtet kritisch den gesellschaftlichen wie individuellen Umgang mit textilen Altlasten.

Heike Derwanz ist Ethnologin und Kunstwissenschaftlerin und promovierte über Karrieren von Street-Art-KünstlerInnen auf dem Kunst- und Designmarkt. An der HafenCity Universität Hamburg forscht sie zur nachhaltigen Nutzung von Textilen und koordiniert das Projekt Low-Budget-Urbanität. Zur Transformation des Städtischen unter dem Primat des Sparens.

In the autumn program of Stadtkuratorin Hamburg the series Stadtgespräch. Metropolitan Perspectives will be continued. Interdisciplinary perspectives on the metropolis of Hamburg will be presented by international artists, theorists and activists: 
Heike Derwanz (ethnologist and art researcher, HafenCity University Hamburg) on ​​old clothes and the logic of donation; Anthony Iles (author and editor of Mute, London) about unfulfilled promises of the Summer Olympics in London (2012) and the impossibility of social designs; Gigi Argyrppoulou (artist and theorist, Athens) and Constantina Theodorou (architect and theorist, Athens) on the politics of artistic spaces during the euro crisis; Florian Rötzer (author and journalist Telepolis, Munich) on the entering of the creative class in the inner cities and the emergence of Smart Cities; Ulrike Bergermann (Professor of media studies, University of Art Braunschweig) and Nanna Heidenreich (media studies researcher and curator, Berlin) about the origin of decolonial pictorial spaces in urban cinema; Beatrice von Bismarck (Professor of art history and director of Cultures of the Curatorial, HGB Leipzig) about the ambivalence of hospitality within the curatorial; Vassilis S. Tsianos (Professor of sociology, University of Applied Sciences Kiel) about post-secular conflicts in the European city, and finally a roundtable on Refugees Welcome in art and culture ?.

The series is realized in cooperation with the Institute for Social Sciences at the University of Hamburg and curated by Sophie Goltz (artistic director Stadtkuratorin Hamburg) and Vassilis S. Tsianos (Professor of Sociology, University of Applied Sciences Kiel)

On October 14, 2015, at 7 pm the series starts with the note The City’s old Clothes by ethnologist and art researcher Heike Derwanz from Hamburg. Second hand was yesterday, Primark is today. In the streets of Hamburg there are tons of worn-out clothes, charity bins are overflowing as well as more recently the places for the distribution of clothes for refugees. Nobody really wants to wear old clothes. What options are there to reuse worn out clothes besides donation or dumpster? Heike Derwanz presents these and other everyday practices with clothes and critically highlights the social and individual approach to the legacy of old clothes. 

Heike Derwanz is a ethnologist and art researcher and wrote her PhD thesis about the careers of street-art artists on the art and design market. At HafenCity University Hamburg she researches the sustainable use of clothes and coordinates the project Low-Budget-Urbanity. On the transformation of the urban in times of austerity.
